Surrey Police have admitted that the estate, part of an area in Surrey dubbed the 'Beverly Hills of Britain', had been hit with a string of crimes since April this year. The crimes - revealed in a Freedom of Information request - included two robberies, one in which the suspect used a sawn-off shotgun, one burglary, two thefts, one car theft, one count of criminal damage and one violent attack. Among the other residents of the 420-home estate include Russian oil tycoons, hedge fund bosses and actress Hannah Gordon, former Chelsea player Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and the Chief Exec of BSkyB Jeremy Darroch. Past residents include John Lennon, Tom Jones, Elton John, Cliff Richard, Jenson Button, Sue Barker, John Terry, Ringo Starr and Bobby Davro. The residents' association of the exclusive estate - called 'The Hill' by locals - boasts that it is a 'unique location designed for driven, motivated and successful high achievers who are looking for a secure and private location in understated and tranquil surroundings'.
